<P><a href="/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a> might not have known how big <a href="/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> would become when he discovered him a few years back, but he was pretty sure he had found something special. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:712878" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Since Bieber burst on the scene with his <i>My World</i> EP back in 2009, the 17-year-old has grown up with the world watching. He's gone from up-and-comer to full-fledged pop sensation, racking up chart-topping albums and a box-office hit and becoming an all-around mega-heartthrob — all in two years. Of course, with the good does come negative attention as well. Recently, Bieber was hit with a <a href="/news/articles/1674509/justin-bieber-paternity-suit-dropped-2.jhtml">paternity lawsuit, which has since been dropped</a>. Usher, no stranger to his own controversies, had these words for the Biebs: "Stay strong. And know that all of this comes with the territory." Aside from the drama, Usher is especially proud of Bieber's charitable side. His mentor said he "absolutely" knew the kid from Stratford, Ontario, had a big heart from the start. "To write a check is only half of it, but when you truly take on a responsibility to be a philanthropist, you accept an effort, and I really think that Pencils of Promise is something that has a very bright future," <a href="/news/articles/1674628/justin-bieber-new-york-city.jhtml">Usher told MTV News at an event for the charity</a>, noting that Bieber is a only a small part of it. Usher — who appears on Bieber's new Christmas album, <a href="/news/articles/1673032/justin-bieber-usher-christmas-song.jhtml"><i>Under the Mistletoe</i></a> — gives credit to the folks surrounding the teen superstar, including manager Scooter Braun. "Just judging from the determination and the will power of the entire team around Justin, I see a very, very promising [future] for him as a philanthropist," Usher said.</p>

'Justin Bieber: Just Getting Started' is due for release in September.

<P>While they eagerly await the release of his upcoming album, <I>Believe</I>, Beliebers will have to make do with <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml"_blank">Justin Bieber's</a> upcoming photo book. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="id:1672718" width="240" height="211"></div><p> According to the <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/earshot/justin-bieber-just-getting-started-book-deal-harpercollins-293499" target="_blank"><I>Hollywood Reporter</I>,</a> "Justin Bieber: Just Getting Started" is scheduled for release in September. The singer's second official photo book comes on the heels of "First Step 2 Forever: My Story," which was released in October 2010 and sold more than one million copies in 25 languages. The new book will include information about the 17-year-old singer's most recent tour and the making of his record-breaking concert documentary, "Never Say Never," as well as the sessions for <I>Believe</I>. Among the bold-faced names that have popped in so far to lay down tracks for that album are <a href="/news/articles/1647665/justin-bieber-drake-have-canadian-reunion-at-vmas.jhtml">fellow Canadian Drake,</a>
 who has long wanted to work with the pop star. <a href="/news/articles/1673221/justin-bieber-kanye-west-drake-next-album.jhtml">Kanye West</a>
 is also reportedly slated to contribute to the disc, which is scheduled for release later this year. Super-producers Pharrell, <a href="/news/articles/1677263/justin-bieber-will-i-am-believe.jhtml">will.i.am</a>
 and rapper Lil Wayne are among the other names that have been tossed about as possible collaborators. <I>Believe</I> is the follow-up to the Christmas-themed <I>Under the Mistletoe</I>, which was released in late 2011. Given his advancing age and the influence of a new group of collaborators, the effort is promising to be a step in a new direction for the multiplatinum teen idol. "The only conversation we've had about Justin's album that we're about to do is it's really important that it's the proper transition, because we've seen him [with] 'Baby,' now we're watching him grow up," Bieber's longtime vocal producer, <a href="/news/articles/1675015/justin-bieber-new-album.jhtml">Kuk Harrell,</a>
 told MTV News in November. "And we can't just throw him into the adult game right away. It has to be the proper transition. There's a record in between." In the meantime, fans will have to settle for watching Bieber help re-launch MTV's iconic <a href="/news/articles/1678777/punkd-premiere-justin-bieber-miley-cyrus.jhtml">"Punk'd"</a>
 hidden-camera show, which relaunches next month with a rotating slate of guest hosts.</p>

<P>Earlier this week, British music mag <a href="http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=1&title=the_most_pretentious _albums_ever&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1" target="_blank"><i>NME</i></a> set out to determine the "10 Most Pretentious Albums Ever." The list includes (genuinely pretty terrible) conceptual fare like Kiss' <i>Music From "The Elder,"</i> Lou Reed's <i>Metal Machine Music</i> and, uh, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a>'s <i>Born This Way,</i> which somehow bested all competitors to nab the #1 spot. How? Well, as <i>NME</i> writer Priya Elan wrote, "On <i>Born This Way,</i> [Gaga] seemed to believe in her own hype, convinced she had a message to share. Cue an album of unwieldy 'anthems' that couldn't mask the fact that the fun had left the building." Elan singled out the thumping "Scheiße" as <I>BTW</i>'s most pretentious moment, adding, "Did electroclash die for this?" Snap. As you'd probably expect, those jabs had Gaga's Little Monsters on the offensive, and they launched an all-out attack on Elan in the comments section of <i>NME</i>'s website. But Gaga herself remained above the fray — for a while, anyway. On Thursday night, she took to her <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/ladygaga/status/172828595134267392" target="_blank">Twitter account</a> to hit back at <i>NME,</i> a publication that's certainly been <a href="http://i28.tinypic.com/2vwzpfp.jpg" target="_blank">no stranger to charges of pretentiousness</a> over the years. "Oh the irony of winning 'Most Pretentious Album Ever' from none other than NME. *Eye roll,*" Gaga wrote. "I might laugh forever [and] then return to narcissism." Double snap. Having sufficiently eye-rolled her way through the situation, there's been no further comment from Gaga about the list. <I>NME,</i> of course, has since turned the exchange into <a href="http://www.nme.com/news/lady-gaga/62233" target="_blank">a separate story,</a> one which, for whatever reason (word count?), includes recent comments Gaga made about bulimia ... and spaghetti. *Eye roll.*</p>

Ryan Seacrest Talks Sacha Baron Cohen?s Oscar Antics
You never know what?s going to happen when Sasha Baron Cohen is in the house, and Ryan Seacrest ended up on the losing end of the exchange yesterday (February 26).
The ?American Idol? host was doing red carpet interviews at the 44th Academy Awards when the ?Borat? actor approached him dressed as his character from ?The Dictator,? and carrying what he claimed to be the ashes of late North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il.
Cohen dumped the ashes on Seacrest?s tuxedo ?by accident,? and got a huge response from the folks nearby.
Ryan explained, ?I definitely did not know that he was going to do that! He comes over, and I asked him a couple of questions, but? You know that feeling in your gut. You feel like, ?This is going too normally.??
?[The urn] was getting closer to my chest, and then it tipped over, and it wasn?t the wind. He spilt it on my tuxedo.?
Kate Upton: From the Daytona 500 to the Oscar Parties
Stepping out for a promo appearance, Kate Upton was spotted at the Daytona 500 in Daytona, Florida on Sunday (February 26).
The sexy supermodel protected herself from the rain with the help of an umbrella while there to serve as the grand marshal of the race - which ended up being rained out.
During the appearance, Upton met up with Jane Lynch, Sean Hayes, Chris Diamantopoulos and Will Sasso to promote their upcoming film ?The Three Stooges.?
Shortly after her gig at the speedway, Ms Upton hopped a plane to Los Angeles, CA just in time to attend the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

But he's giving them an early treat by releasing his <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a> duet, "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)," on Monday (October 24). </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="id:1672718" width="240" height="211"></div><p> The song dropped on Ryan Seacrest's <a href="http://ryanseacrest.com/2011/10/24/usher-premieres-duet-with-justin-bieber-chestnuts-over-an-open-fire-audio/" target="_blank">radio show</a>. Its vibe is reminiscent of '90s R&B tracks, and it sounds a lot like it could have been recorded by Boyz II Men, who also appear on the album. The Christmas classic is all about the little joys of the holiday season, including the family get-togethers, the food and Santa bringing presents to children. The song, one of the classics that appears on the album, hits iTunes on Monday. Bieber and Usher previously appeared together on "Somebody to Love" off <i>My World 2.0.</i> "Justin and I did the classic record 'Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire.' This record is going to be remembered for years to come," Usher told Seacrest on Monday morning. "It's a record that has always been one of my favorites, and I'm happy that I was able to share it with Justin, and for us to put it out. The album is full of surprises. Justin's <i>Under the Mistletoe</i> is going to be incredible!" In the lead-up to the release, Bieber <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/justinbieber/status/128163827832467456" target="_blank">released</a> some behind-the-scenes footage of his mentor and him in the studio working on the song. He also shared that he had another surprise in store for his fans. Ludacris Taps Usher For Upcoming Spring Album

<P>Are you ready for another <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/ludacris/artist.jhtml">Ludacris</a> album? It's been two years since 'Cris dropped his last album, <i>Battle of the Sexes,</i> and the Atlanta MC estimates that his next one will hit stores this spring. "I get the beats together and I put out my ideas, so I'd say we're maybe about 40 percent done," the rapper told <a href="http://www.billboard.com/column/the-juice/ludacris-eyes-spring-ludaversal-release-1005831952.story#/column/the-juice/ludacris-eyes-spring-ludaversal-release-1005831952.story" target="_blank"><i>Billboard</i></a> of his upcoming eighth LP, <i>Ludaversal,</i> which he anticipates will be out around May with a first single dropping in March. Luda, who dropped his <a href="/news/articles/1674369/ludacris-1.21-gigawatts-mixtape.jhtml"><i>1.21 Gigawatts</i> mixtape</a> in November, also revealed one big-time guest on the LP. "<a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a> is one person that I've already worked with," he said. Who can forget Usher's inescapable smash "Yeah!" from his 2004 <i>Confessions</i> album? The two also hooked up on Lil Jon's "Lovers and Friends" in the same year and then again two years ago on Usher's "She Don't Know." As far as what the two have cooked up for <i>Ludaversal,</i> fans will just have to wait and see. Throughout his career, Luda has shown a ton of versatility. An undeniable hitmaker, at times the nimble-tongued lyricist has been comical (2001's "Area Codes" and 2004's "Number One Spot") and in other instances delivered healthy amounts of substance (2006's "Runaway Love" and 2008's "Do the Right Thing"). For <i>Ludaversal,</i> he will get a little personal. "It's been a minute since I've been away from music, and there is just so much to talk about," he said. <P><i>Believe</i> it or not, there doesn't seem to be anyone that <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> isn't getting on his in-the-works next album. It seems that fellow <a href="/news/articles/1647665/justin-bieber-drake-have-canadian-reunion-at-vmas.jhtml">Canadian and <i>Take Care</i> rapper Drake</a> has been tapped to appear on the album, set for release later this year. The news of their collabo was confirmed on Thursday (February 9) by Bieber's manager Scooter Braun on <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/scooterbraun/status/167555650400960512" target="_blank">Twitter</a>. But any Belieber could have easily figured out whom Bieber was referring to when he tweeted this <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/justinbieber/status/167393544573698049" target="_blank">message</a> to his devotees: "You really wanna know who im going into the studio with tonight??#bigbro #CANADA." <center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:571707/cp~id%3D1672718%26vid%3D571707%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A571707%26instance%3Dmtv" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="." flashVars=""></embed></center> This Drizzy collabo has been a long time in the making. At the 2010 VMAs, Bieber shared with MTV News that he wanted to get his pal on his next proper (non-holiday) album. Then, in a radio interview late last year, he confirmed that <a href="/news/articles/1673221/justin-bieber-kanye-west-drake-next-album.jhtml">Drake, along with Kanye West</a>, was in talks to work on <i>Believe.</i> However, as the list of collaborators for the album grows, one more name is being tossed about as a potential collaborator. Sources tell <a href="http://www.hollywoodlife.com/2012/02/08/justin-bieber-new-album-believe-kesha">Hollywoodlife.com</a> that Ke$ha may appear on <i>Believe.</i> The source says that K-dollar sign "would also be a part of the song in a duet capacity." The duet has yet to be confirmed, and K is busy in the studio working on her own <a href="/news/articles/1676580/kesha-2012-new-album.jhtml">rock and roll-inspired album</a>. This wouldn't be the first time <a href="/news/articles/1630853/justin-bieber-keha-look-forward-to-2011-grammys.jhtml">Bieber and Ke$ha</a> have paired up. They appeared together at the 2010 Grammy Awards, where the newbies presented the award for Best New Artist to the Zac Brown Band. Berenice Bejo Wins 2012 Best Actress Cesar Award
Looking breathtaking as she worked the red carpet, Berenice Bejo turned up for the 37th Cesar Film Awards in Paris, France on Friday (February 24).
Held at the Theatre du Chatelete, the 35-year-old Argentine-French actress sashayed down the arrivals area alongside husband Michel Hazanavicius as she readied for the much-awaited City of Lights festivities.
Among the big winners, Miss Bejo was a stage regular as she took the stage numerous times to collect trophies including the prestigious Best Actress accolade.
Berenice and her director hubby Michel also joined alongside cast members Thomas Langmann, Jean Dujardin, and Omar Sy to collect the grand prize of the night - the Cesar Award for Best Picture.

They join already announced acts Lady Gaga, Ludacris, Lupe Fiasco, Sugarland and Jason Aldean. Country crossover act the Band Perry will perform a full concert of their own after the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/grammys">Grammy</a> nominations concert wraps up at L.A. Live's Nokia Theatre. LL Cool J will again host the show, which will air at 10 p.m. on CBS, <a href="http://www.billboard.com/news/rihanna-band-perry-usher-added-to-grammy-1005529002.story#/news/rihanna-band-perry-usher-added-to-grammy-1005529002.story" target="_blank">Billboard.com reports</a>. This marks the fourth year the Recording Academy had held one of these concerts. Angelina Jolie's Oscar Rehearsal Session
Among the many stars readying for the biggest night in Tinseltown, Angelina Jolie was busy rehearsing for the 84th Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Friday (February 24).
The 36-year-old took to the Hollywood & Highland Center venue where she was joined by the ceremony's producer Brian Grazer and stage manager Dency Nelson while practicing her presenter role.
And while the session was fast paced, even Grazer and Nelson couldn't help but fold to Miss Jolie's undeniable star power.
"You have to take a picture with me first!" Brian said as soon as Angelina took to the stage before politely adding, "Well, you don't HAVE to."
Meanwhile, Dency added, "You just blew the minds of two of our stand-ins who got a hug from you," with Jolie replying, "Oh, you're so sweet."
The rehearsal comes two days ahead of Sunday night's (February 26) 2012 Oscars - with the show airing live on ABC beginning at 7e/4p.

Katie Holmes' Pre-Academy Awards Fitness
Closing out the work week with a grueling workout, Katie Holmes was spotted making her way out of the Equinox Gym in Beverly Hills, California on Friday afternoon (February 24).
The former "Dawson's Creek" darling seemed to be a bit exhausted following the sweat session - as shje waited for an out-of-order elevator before noticing the sign and heading to the nearby escalator.
The fitness outing comes as Katie is getting herself in tip-top shape for her big red carpet walk on thea rm of hubby Tom Cruise at this weekends Academy Awards.
Set to air live from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday (February 26), the 33-year-old will be a spectator this time around as she watches her man take the stage as one of the night's star-studded presenters.

<P><P><a href="/news/articles/1677891/the-wanted-band-american-tour.jhtml">The Wanted landed on U.S. shores</a> last month for their first-ever tour here in America, and what ensued was Beatlemania-like fandom. On Wednesday night, the U.K. boy band wrapped up the trek in L.A., and fans (including the Beckham family) came out in full force when they took the stage at the El Rey. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:732653" width="240" height="211"></div><p> The five Brits couldn't believe the enthusiasm felt by the crowd, <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/thewantedmusic" target="_blank">tweeting</a> that the excitement for them was "unbelievable." Even though the tour is over, the interest in the guys has hardly waned. Their song "Glad You Came" (from their 2011 album <i>Battleground</i>) will be <a href="/news/articles/1678650/glee-the-wanted-glad-you-came.jhtml">featured on "Glee"</a> this season and continues to climb the charts and gain radio play. The guys are prepared for all the attention: Touring with Justin Bieber has shown them what it's like to become an international pop sensation. So what kind of advice has the Biebs given them? "I think he's too humble for that, in that way. ... He's not someone that really gives advice, because I think he just appreciates what happens to him rather than thinks he's God," Max George told MTV News. "And so, I mean, we don't really talk music. When we speak to him, it's more we talk about football or basketball." Bandmate Jay McGuiness added: "I think he knows that we know how to do what we want to do in the same way that we could never tell him how to do what he does, 'cause he does it a lot better than we ever could." The Wanted will head back home to their native U.K. to kick off an arena tour that will run through March.
