Usher's Stepson Declared Brain Dead After Jet-Ski Accident

<P>Things went from bad to worse for Kiie Glover, Usher's 11-year-old stepson. After a tragic Jet Ski accident left the <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/07/08/ushers-son-injured-in-jet-ski-accident/">youngster in critical condition</a> on Friday, doctors have now declared him brain dead.</P><P><a href="http://www.tmz.com/2012/07/08/usher-tameka-foster-stepson-brain-dead/" target=="_blank">TMZ</a> is reporting that Glover, who is the son of Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Foster, has not experienced any brain activity since he was admitted into the hospital two days ago. According to reports, the pre-teen and a friend were floating in inner tubes on Lake Lanier in Atlanta when they were struck by a man on a Jet Ski. Glover was unresponsive when he was taken out of the water and airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston; his friend, an unidentified 15-year old girl, was treated for a cut on the head and a broken arm.</P><P>According to the <a href="http://www.ajc.com/news/reports-ushers-stepson-injured-1473926.html" target="_blank"><i>Atlanta Journal-Constitution,</i></a> the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said that alcohol doesn't appear to have been a factor in the accident and the newspaper also reported that the man on the Jet Ski and Glover were part of the same group on an outing at the lake.</P><P>Foster and Usher (born Usher Raymond) were married in 2007 but divorced in 2009. The two are reportedly both present at the hospital.</P><P>Many of Usher and Foster's celebrity friends took to Twitter on Sunday (July 8) to express their deepest sympathies.</P><P>"My deepest prayers go out to Tameka, Usher and both of their families right now," Diggy Simmons wrote.</P><P>"Wishing @TamekaRaymond's son godspeed recovery. horrible news to hear," Roots drummer Questlove added, while television personality La La Anthony wrote: "Praying for @TamekaRaymond and her family. Asking to give her and her family strength during this difficult time. Praying for u Kile."</P><P>This tragedy comes a month after Usher released his latest #1 album, <i>Looking 4 Myself.</i></P><P><i>Share your well wishes for Usher and his family in the comments section.</i></P>

Gomez also discussed her aspirations to take acting to a whole new level and her dreams to make music with <i>another</i> Justin.</P><P>Describing her relationship with Bieber as "really fun," Gomez told the mag she feels "lucky" to have the young singer by her side. "I'm 20. I don't take anything in my personal life too seriously," she says. "I have great friends and a solid group of people I love. Lady Gaga Confirms New Album's Title Is ARTPOP

After tweeting out a photo of her <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2012/08/03/lady-gaga-unveils-new-tattoo-pic/">new tattoo, which reads ARTPOP</a>, last week, she took to Twitter over the weekend to confirm that the ink is indeed the name of her 2013 album release.</P><P>"Make sure when writing about my new album/project ARTPOP that you CAPITALIZE the title, *its all in the details* good morning twitter!" she <a href="https://twitter.com/ladygaga/status/232114376067403776"_blank">wrote</a> on Sunday.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Lady Gaga Has The Title And Concept For Her Next Album" id="vid:717202" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>Mother Monster originally revealed her plan to <a href="/news/articles/1686922/lady-gaga-new-album-title.jhtml">drop the album's title</a> in September back in June before apparently getting antsy and releasing the name a month ahead of schedule. It's a title she's had in mind since MTV News spoke to her last year.</P><P>"I've started writing it and I have the name for it, and all the concepts are <a href="/news/articles/1675458/lady-gaga-next-album.jhtml">beginning to flourish</a> and take place," she said in December. "I'm excited to put it out, but it's not done yet. So I'll put it out when it's done."</P><P>Gaga has been making time to record <i>ARTPOP</i> while on her <i>Born This Way</i> tour. She reportedly enlisted the help of <a href="/news/articles/1690576/lady-gaga-whitesnake-guitarist-doug-aldrich-new-album.jhtml">Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich</a> for the album. The twosome hit the studio with Gaga's longtime collaborator DJ White Shadow in Los Angeles.</P><P>She also recently teased fans with a new song, <a href="/news/articles/1690196/lady-gaga-new-music-car-new-york.jhtml">blasting it out of her car</a> while in New York City. She even implied that the dance track would be the first single from the new album. DJ White Shadow produced the track.</P><P>Gaga has also been playing her new piano-heavy song "Princess Die" while on tour. During one stop, she opened up a bit about her next album. "Let's just say I feel, I feel that when I wrote <i>Born This Way,</i> I demonstrated a sense of maturity," she said. Usher Stepson Kile Glover's Funeral Set For Friday
The 11-year-old will be laid to rest in Atlanta after being taken off life support.

<P><a href="/news/articles/1689206/ushers-stepson-declared-brain-dead-after-jet-ski-accident.jhtml">Usher's stepson Kile Glover</a> will be laid to rest during a funeral service scheduled to take place in Atlanta on Friday. The 11-year-old died from heart failure last week after being <a href="/news/articles/1690157/usher-stepson-kile-glover-taken-off-life-support.jhtml">taken off life support</a> following a tragic jet-ski accident in early July.</P><P>Glover, who is the son of Usher ex-wife Tameka Foster and Atlanta TV executive Ryan Glover, was struck by a jet ski on Atlanta's Lake Lanier on July 6 while riding an inner tube with a friend. He was immediately airlifted to the hospital, where doctors <a href="/news/articles/1689206/ushers-stepson-declared-brain-dead-after-jet-ski-accident.jhtml">pronounced him brain-dead</a>. Glover was removed from life support last weekend, after his family previously issued statements asking fans for their prayers.</P><P>According to the <a href="http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta/funeral-for-kile-glover-1484629.html" target="_blank"><i>Atlanta Journal-Constitution,</i></a> the funeral will be held at the Wieuca Road Baptist Church on Peachtree Road in Atlanta at 11 a.m. on Friday.</P><P>"We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time," the family said in a statement following the accident. "We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him now."</P><P>The man driving the jet ski that struck Glover was identified as 38-year-old family friend Jeffrey S. Hubbard. Police have not decided to press any charges so far. A second victim, a 15-year-old girl, was also injured in the accident, but she's said to be recovering after suffering from a broken arm and a cut on the head.</P>

<P>This year's September issue of <a href="http://www.vogue.com/magazine/article/dream-girl-lady-gaga/#1" target="_blank"><i>Vogue</i></a> is important not only because it's the <i>September issue,</i> but because it celebrates the magazine's 120 years in the business. And they've chosen the one and only <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> as their cover girl.</P><P>For her <a href="/news/articles/1657656/lady-gaga-vogue.jhtml">second cover</a>, Gaga went ultra-glam; her hair platinum and big paired with an off-the-shoulder, mermaid-cut Marc Jacobs gown in multiple shades of fuchsia, purple and pink.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Lady Gaga Twitter Lightning Round!" id="vid:683377" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>The cover line promises, "Think you know Lady Gaga? Think again." And, in several quotes teased from the issue, which officially hits newsstands on August 14, Gaga dishes on not only her <i>Born This Way</i> Ball, but also the reasons she makes the music she does.</P><P>She also explained why it was so important that her fragrance appear so dark. "The fragrance is called <a href="/news/articles/1690972/lady-gaga-racy-fame-perfume-ad.jhtml">Fame</a>. It must be black," she said, noting that when she met with perfume designers they had to make sure it sprayed on clear. "It must be enticing. You must want to lick and touch and feel it, but the look of it must terrify you." As for her massive stage show, she explained that she wanted to "break the mold of what modern touring is now" and reinvent some of the images she's best known for, including that meat dress she wore to the 2010 VMAs.</P><P>"We were talking about putting the show together, and I said, 'OK, what if I was someone's grandma and I was going to a concert tonight? How would I know that it was a Gaga show?' " she said. "And we all just sort of looked at each other and said, 'The meat dress.' "</P><P>If the meat dress wasn't distinction enough, Gaga said what also makes her shows different is the way they make you feel. "I don't really make records for people to listen to and go, 'Wow, she's a genius.' " She added, "I'd really like you to order a drink, maybe kiss the person you came with that evening, or rediscover something about your past that makes you feel even more brave."</P><P>She explains in the issue that sometimes she doesn't just feel brave in her music, but also in her real life. And, despite her extremely high profile, she says she likes to "feel a little irresponsible and act like I'm 19." According to the <a href="http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iXsp_pZdcwCVC_SZc5hL-ZaO1fwQ?docId=109e045a451c442f9fcfaac07423da14" target="_blank">Associated Press</a> she added that there are times when she can "roll into a bar" and dance on a bar, or perhaps even have sex on the beach incognito.</P><P>The photos for the issue were shot by fashion photography team Mert & Marcus. Too Much Violence? Jim Carrey Won't Support 'Kick-Ass 2'
Jim Carrey has had a change of heart about his latest film. In Kick-Ass 2, the rubber-faced actor plays vigilante Colonel Stars and Stripes, who helps self-made superheroes Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) defeat the bad guys. Like the 2010 action comedy Kick-Ass and the comic that inspired it, the sequel promises scenes of brutal violence. And that's why Carrey says he can no longer support it.

Why Fans Still Defend Paula Deen After Food Network Firing
The Food Network now contains 15% less butter. On Friday night, the cable channel announced that Paula Deen, the Southern chef famous for her cholesterol-laden recipes, would be packing up her cookware at the end of the month. The firing was prompted by accusations of racism against Deen, who admitted to using the N-word during a recent court hearing. Yet many of Deen's fans are remaining loyal, and a supportive Facebook campaign has already collected a quarter of a million "likes."
Chris Brown Accused of Assault, Again
Guess what -- Chris Brown is in trouble! Must be Tuesday. The R&B singer has been accused of shoving a woman to the ground after a nightclub performance, allegedly tearing ligaments in her knee. The accuser, 24-year-old Deanna Gordon, says that Brown deliberately pushed her as he was leaving the club, because "words were exchanged" between herself and a female member of Brown's entourage. ("She did not want me standing in the place I was standing at," Gordon told TMZ.) The accuser says her injuries sent her to the hospital, and she intends to press charges against Brown -- but she'll settle for an apology.

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Reveal North?s Birth Weight, Wedding in the Works?!
Still settling into parenthood, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have finally let slip their baby girl North?s weight at birth.
A friend of the couple told press that she weighed in a 4 pounds, 15 ounces and was five weeks early. ?She?s tiny and perfect. She looks just like Kim- with her dark hair and some of her features.?
As for the premature birth, the insider shared, "Kim was scared. And the doctors had to assure her that even though the baby was early, she was ready."
Thankfully, after getting the all-clear from her medical team, mother and baby left the hospital after a week last Friday, and the happy family -- including West -- are settling in.
And now that North is here, The Sun has reported that Kanye proposed to Kim with a $770,000 ?rare black and tiger-stripe diamond ring. The pair is planning a wedding in Paris this September.?

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> and Lindsay Lohan might <a href="/news/articles/1690648/lady-gaga-lindsay-lohan-machete-kills.jhtml">commit their friendship</a> to celluloid: According to reports, Mother Monster has asked the starlet to appear in her next music video, the lead visual from her upcoming <a href="/news/articles/1691226/lady-gaga-new-album-artpop.jhtml"><i>ARTPOP</i> album</a>.</P><P>While a rep for Lohan told MTV News her camp is "not confirming" the chatter, sources say the two stars have become fast friends and want to work together soon.</P><P>"Lady Gaga and Lindsay caused a stir last month when they had their 'sleepover' at the Chateau [Marmont]," a Hollywood insider told the <a href="http://m.nypost.com/p/pagesix/lindsay_lands_gaga_vid_gig_kxo9Fn2Cgw9KoRBR0UU9GP" target="_blank"><i>New York Post.</i></a> "And now it turns out that Lindsay will be starring in Gaga's new video from her upcoming album."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Lady Gaga Twitter Lightning Round!" id="vid:683377.id:1669247" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>A Gaga insider insisted to the newspaper that the singer is not shooting a video at this time and a rep for Gaga had not responded to MTV News' request for comment by press time.</P><P>Another source opened up about the rumored collaboration to <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/336415/lady-gaga-and-lindsay-lohan-teaming-for-new-music-video" target="_blank">E! News</a>, saying there's a real, mutual friendship between the two women. The duo originally made headlines this summer after Gaga posted photos of their L.A. rendezvous to her <a href="/news/articles/1691382/lady-gaga-little-monsters-website.jhtml">Little Monsters website</a>.</P><P>"Gaga really likes Lindsay and Lindsay is really happy to be able to be part of it," the insider said. Mother Monster tweets up her fragrance and then catches Olympics fever.

<P>Just call <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> the Fame Monster. The singer has just unveiled another ad for her fragrance, the aptly titled <a href="/news/articles/1689786/lady-gaga-nude-perfume-ad.jhtml">Fame</a>, dropping in September.</P><P>While she donned nothing except for tiny men crawling up her body in the last image, this new one features the singer in a clingy PVC bodysuit with a big PVC hat and face mask. The black-and-white photo features two Mother Monsters, facing off in a side-by-side mirror image.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Lady Gaga's Musical Roots" id="vid:657640" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>Like the first ad, this one was also shot by "Alejandro" video director and fashion photographer Steven Klein. Gaga added that the look was styled by Brandon Maxwell, who has worked for her pal Nicola Formichetti and styled her for "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving." She <a href="http://littlemonsters.com/image/5018ad5dc46c85665b000acb" target="_blank">tweeted</a> out the image late Tuesday, with the message, "Fame is an illusion. Gold for the ladies! just want to squeeze them! So much talent and beauty. Did u seem all holding hands? There's no 'I' in team."</P><P>Lady Gaga will go for record-sales gold when she drops her new album sometime in 2013. No Lone Ranger: Johnny Gets Star-Studded Help at His Big Premiere
Johnny Depp and his costar Armie Hammer hit the red carpet for the West Coast premiere of their film, The Lone Ranger, at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, CA, last night. Johnny and Armie did not go at it alone since their premiere attracted plenty of star power from the likes of Julianne Hough, Emma Roberts, who had her boyfriend, Evan Peters, by her side, Krysten Ritter, and more. Johnny has had a busy past few days promoting his Disney flick ahead of its release in the US on July 3. On Friday, he made a surprise appearance at an advanced screening of the film for the Comanche Nation in Lawton, OK. Johnny is an adoptive member of the Native American tribe and he revealed his excitement over sharing the film with them first saying, "I'm proud to show [this film] to the Comanche Nation and members of the Indian Nations first." He and Armie also popped up in New Mexico for a press day last Thursday where we sat down with both the Lone Ranger stars to chat about their latest, so be sure to stay tuned for the interviews.
Along with the star-studded showing, Armie had his wife, Elizabeth Chambers, on his arm for the premiere last night. Elizabeth showed her support for Armie after he made headlines for divulging details about his past sex life in an interview with Elle magazine, which was released last week.
