If you're like us, you were shocked to watch the scandalous video of Miley Cyrus smoking out of bong and talking about having "a bad trip." But it turns out no one was more surprised by the 18-year-old's party habits than her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Last week, TMZ.com released the now-infamous video, which allegedly shows Cyrus smoking a natural herb called salvia at a get-together at her L.A. home. And when Papa Cyrus got wind of the news, he was -- like any dad -- pretty upset. But unlike most dads, he took to his Twitter to share his concern.
"Sorry guys. I had no idea," he wrote on Dec. 10. "Just saw this stuff for the first time myself. Im so sad. There is much beyond my control right now."
But even though Billy Ray wasn't too excited about the thought of his teen daughter smoking salvia, it seems plenty of other people were. TMZ reports that sales of the drug in L.A. were up since Friday and many customers are asking specifically for "the stuff Miley was smoking."
But Miley fans should think twice before following in her footsteps. Even though the hallucinogen is legal in California, one smoke shop employee tells TMZ that "salvia is one of those things that you only try once because it is so intense."
