Charlie Sheen Won't Be Charged in Plaza Hotel Incident

For a guy who misbehaves so often, Charlie Sheen sure is good at dodging the consequences. On Tuesday, news outlets reported that the star of Two and a Half Men would not face criminal charges over his behavior at the Plaza Hotel on October 25th. As you may recall, Sheen was allegedly doing hard drugs, shouting racial slurs, trashing his hotel room and acting violent towards his porn star date, Capri Anderson. A freaked-out Anderson called the hotel management, who called the police, who told Sheen he could either go down to the precinct or check into the nearest hospital. Naturally, the bad-boy actor opted to go to the hospital, thereby avoiding an arrest.

But the case wasn't closed on Sheen. A month after that wild night, Anderson filed a criminal complaint against the actor, saying he had terrorized her and made her fear for her life. The NYPD launched a criminal investigation into Anderson's claims, while Sheen filed a counter-suit charging his escort with extortion. In the end, the police decided that Capri Anderson's word wasn't adequate grounds for putting Charlie Sheen on trial.

"There have been no arrests. That case is closed," an NYPD rep told E! Online.

According to E!, Anderson might have had a case if she hadn't waited a full month to file a police report. That delay led investigators to believe that she was never in serious physical danger. Add the extortion claim and her threat to sue, and it's pretty unclear whether adult film actress Anderson is truly after justice... or money and publicity.

We have no idea whether Capri Anderson's version of the truth was accurate, but we don't think she was making it up wholesale; there was definitely something amiss with Charlie Sheen at the Plaza Hotel that night. And we don't buy for a second that it was an allergic reaction to medication, as his rep has claimed. Whatever really happened, Charlie Sheen's people are working over time to cover it up. And once again, the actor has escaped the consequences of his own questionable actions. At the moment, Charlie Sheen really does seem to be the Teflon man -- perhaps because he's the star of America's most popular sitcom. But if he continues on this path without getting professional help, he's got a lot more to lose than his TV gig.
