Looks like Julianne Moore has suited up for her role as Sarah Palin in the HBO movie, Game Change. After Tina Fey's famously dead-on impersonation of the would-be vice president, can Moore (and her stylists) pull off a similarly Palin-esque look? You betcha.
Of course, the real challenge will be perfecting that peppy Alaskan twang. But Moore, 50, will probably nail that, too, considering the talent she's shown through her past acting successes: She's racked up several Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for her work in films like Magnolia, Far From Heaven, The Hours and The Kids Are All Right.
Production begins Wednesday on this film that chronicles John McCain's (Ed Harris) 2008 presidential run, from his decision to team up with Palin to his eventual loss to Barack Obama. Moore will no doubt get to tangle with Woody Harrelson's character, McCain advisor Steve Schmidt. And Melissa Farman (who Lost fans know as the young version of Danielle) will play her political lightning rod of a daughter, Bristol. Ron Livingston (of Swingers fame) will play Mark Wallace, the McCain advisor who prepped Palin for her debate with Joe Biden.
Ironically, Moore was originally tapped to portray Hilary Clinton in HBO's The Special Relationship, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts (the role ultimately went to Hope Davis). Here's a photo of her dressed as current Secretary of State Clinton for that almost-role.
Boy, this woman really is a chameleon. What's next -- a role as Donald Trump in a movie about the President Obama birth certificate brouhaha?
