David Beckham Court Drama: Can Tabloid Prove Affair?

David Beckham Court Drama: Can Tabloid Prove Affair?

David Beckham and Victoria "Posh" Beckham's perfect-looking marriage is about to be tested… in court. Four months ago, David, 35, filed a lawsuit against In Touch Weekly, in response to a story that claimed David was sleeping with high-end call girl Irma Nici, 26. Beckham charged In Touch with libel, slander, and "intentionally causing emotional distress." The lawsuit seemed like a vote of confidence in his eleven-year marriage to wife Victoria. Unfortunately for the Beckhams, In Touch just filed its own motion in the court case -- and it doesn't look good for David.

The publishers of In Touch claim they can prove that Beckham had an affair with Nici. The court documents go over the In Touch editors' three-hour interview with Nici, and cite other sources that provided corroborating details. (The documents also refer to Beckham as a "serial philanderer." Ouch!)

The magazine is also countering David's claim that his alleged affair is "not a matter of public interest." Honestly, we can't even believe he's trying that one, considering how many millions he's made off of product endorsements and tabloid stories related to his marriage. You can't have it both ways, Becks!

If the case actually goes to trial, it will be pretty juicy -- but more likely, the Beckhams will drop the lawsuit. We'll find out after the hearing on February 14th. Valentine's Day -- how inappropriate!
