At the Tony Awards, Neil Patrick Harris delivered a showstopping performance of ‘Sugar Daddy from the musical ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch.’ As the title character, a transgender woman, he stole the show and involved several audience members, including Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Bacon and others into his daring and edgy performance. The former ‘How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris, who hosted the Tony Awards last year, quite literally stole the show with his exuberant performance as Hedwig, for which he was nominated for the Tony Award and went on to win later in the evening. In a long blond wig and a short and wildly colored costume and sheer leggins, he embodied his transgender German punk rock singer character sang and danced his way on and off the stage and wandered into the audience. And that was just the start of the over-the-top antics of his wild character, Hedwig, as he proceeded to give a lap dance to Kevin Bacon and to Sting, and to kiss another man in the audience full on the lips.
